About the Club The Pouch Cove Lions Club was granted its charter on December 22. 1982 with 31 charter members. The first Charter Night dinner was held February 25, 1983. It was chaired by President Joe Scanlon of the Portugal Cove Lions Club, the sponsoring club. The Charter President was Clayton King. In its early years, the club met at the Satellite Lounge until it acquired its own building, the former satellite tracking station located on Satellite Rd. The building was refurbished through volunteer labour by club members and was officially opened March 16, 1985. The building serves as a place for Lions’ meetings and other functions and is also used by many other community groups.
