A message from the mother of the 6 yr old boy that received the Guide Dog our Club sponsored:
This is the dog you sponsored. His name is Kito and he will be my son’s best friend. We cannot thank you enough. When we found out today that our sons dog guide was sponsored by fellow Newfoundlanders, it made it even more special!
Thank you to our residents that always support our fundraising efforts such as bingo, ticket draws, regatta booth, calendars and especially Chase the Ace. Without your continued support our Lions Club, all Lions Clubs, could not assist those in need. THANK YOU!
The Lion Max Simms Memorial Camp (LMSMC) is to be known, as the place where all challenged individuals will receive an enriching and rewarding camping experience.
A BRIEF HISTORY
In 1981 the Camp opened its doors, and for the first time, accessible camping became a reality in Newfoundland & Labrador. This was the culmination of several years of effort by many dedicated individuals and groups. Our Camp became a place where anyone could go regardless of their abilities. A place where corridors were as wide as rooms, and walkways throughout the site made it possible to move freely outside.
Please checkout the list of camp events at: http://lionmaxsimmsmemorialcamp.ca/events.php or contact your local Lions Club.
The Pouch Cove Lions Club recently sponsored an Autism Guide Dog. This dog, once trained, will go to a child in Newfoundland & Labrador aged 3-12. The Club is extremely proud to be able to contribute to this most worthy cause and look forward to being on hand when the dog is delivered.
Supporting Guide Dogs is one of the many organizations the Pouch Cove Lions Club support through our fundraising efforts. Recently the Club had the opportunity to donate a Hearing Ear Dog to a young women in Alberta. We received a very nice picture, note and letter from the person and family stating how much this donation has changed their lives forever. Through your continued support, it allows us to assist people not only in our community but in other parts of Canada. Wherever there is a need there is a LION! We Serve is our moto and the reason each and every one of us is proud to be a LION.
We’d love to hear from you. We’re on social media, if you have a quick question or if you just want to say hi. For inquiries feel free to call, email or use the contact form to the right. We can’t wait to hear from you soon!
